1) It’s hard for me to believe that this is a debut novel. The writing is lush and expressive. The setting conveys both place and mood so vividly and deftly. The characters are believable, fully realised, and, with one exception, very sympathetic. What impressed me most, though, was the author’s ability to capture the conflicts, fast-changing emotions, and interpersonal dynamics of a group of teenagers. A wholly believable coming-of-age story. I couldn’t put it down.
2) Loved the writing and the strong sense of place and time it creates. The characters are vividly drawn.
3) A well written, entertaining and absorbing story that was difficult to put down. an excellent addition to the genre of YA gay romance. I would recommend it to teenagers and adults of any age.
4) First book for me by this author but it will not be the last.

Luke believes he has his life figured out...and then he meets Theo. It should have been simple-a summer spent with his girlfriend Zara at her family's holiday cottage in Cornwall. Seventeen-year-old Luke Savage jumps at the chance, envisioning endless hours of sunbathing on the private beach and riding the waves on his beloved surfboard. He isn't interested in love. Though his rugged good looks and lazy charm mean he can have his pick of girls, he has no intention of falling for anyone. Nothing prepares Luke for his reaction to Theo, the sensitive Oxford undergraduate who is Zara's cousin and closest friend. All at once, he is plunged along a path of desire and discovery that has him questioning everything he thought he knew about himself. No one, especially Zara, must find out; what he and Theo have is too new, too fragile. But as the deceit spirals beyond their control, people are bound to get hurt, Luke most of all.

1) Brilliant story. I would have liked for the story to have been longer. So that I could have kept reading about this world and the wonderful characters within. I would definitely recommend it to others to read.
2) Interesting story and one that hooked me from the start. Really liked the premise as well as the characters.
