Lucky 8 (Lucky Breaks #2) by Rae D. Magdon
This dystopian novel came out of left field for me. It is a totally dazzling ride the diverse and colorful group of Lucky 8 mercenaries takes the reader on. Action abounds but there are emotional moments too, (hot) sex is part of the story and underlines the story – the mix is well done. The transition from the first instalment of the series to the second is seamless and takes a new reader on board without information dumps. The same is true for incorporating the cyber and real reality of the future in the 2060s on earth. The author has a knack for world building and living it through their characters. The characters are not only believable but engaging – each of the 8 mainish characters are lovingly and fully developed. The plot left me breathless up to the very last page and then some. Recommended read.
