This was definitely something new. The plot and setting were both very intriguing, I particularly liked that it was something I never read about before. The topic of death and loss was handled with grace and made enough of an impact that I was left wondering about some of the things I read well after coming to the end of the story. Curling Vines and Crimson Trades (Broken Chronicles #2) by Kellie Doherty

This was an interesting book, it offered a solid series with a good and interesting plot, but I feel it could have been developed a bit better to make the whole world created brighter and more vivid. The characters were well developed and easy to distinguish, even during dialogue parts I didn't have problems following who is who. Good solid read!

How to Steal a Star by Geonn Cannon

I know this author fairly well and I am glad to say that this book is a solid one between his bibliography. The plot was not only solid but had a lot of momentum to it, making it interesting during the whole journey. The characters had a vivid voice to themselves that made it easy to picture them as distinct individuals. I was particularly happy with the setting that was very peculiar and that made the book even more intriguing. Good read so much so that I would read a next instalment if he ever would like to go for it.

Viking Quest by Edale Lane

This was a very interesting and entertaining read. I loved in particular the setting of the story that I feel even if it wasn't the most original one it was able to still be and feel different from the other books of the same genre. The characters were fully developed and very tridimensional, and that made the reading experience even more enjoyable. The plot was very engaging and the story as a whole had a very nice flow to it that made it easy to keep my interest till the end. Job well done for sure!

To Poison a Prince (A Tale of Two Princes #2) by Aldrea Alien

An entertaining sequel to the first book, this carried me along through adventures and a warm established-couple relationship. There are interesting secondary characters, lots of threats and obstacles to surmount, and detailed but not confusing world-building. I loved Hamish, and enjoyed watching Darshan around him. Another long book that I was caught up in to the end.

The Man from Milwaukee by Rick R. Reed

Superb depiction of time and place – can almost smell the bus exhaust. Skillful tie-in to real-life events. Excellent depiction of one man's obsession and the damage his mental imbalance does to friends and family – but without losing the sense of his own humanity. Top-notch!
