Formula 17 (2004)

 Formula 17 was sort of cute and very much old feeling (made in 2004, 20 years ago...). The story of virgin Tien who falls in love with playboy Richard is nothing original, but at least the story was cute and not depressing like many movies made in that time. I really struggled with the old cliches that were presented, like the slutty roommate, he could have been a nice supporting character and instead he seemed fake. But at least this was an HEA, and there was not too much drama: the scene of an almost naked Tien who exits Richard's house the morning after was so funny (maybe not realistic, but funny yes). Heat Level: 5/6.

Beyond the Star (2023)

 I didn't particular care for Beyond the Star; the first episode was not bad, but then it progressed in a weird way, with most of the series being inconclusive; moreover it dealt with sensitive matters, like suicide, in a very bad way, almost implying a suicide attempt is not particular traumatic; the Romeo/Jules story was so chaotic I didn't understand how they solved it (did one of the two joined the other group?); there was only one story that was basically easy and linear, but right for that reason, it was sort of boring. So there is not much I save of this series, maybe some of the actors were cute and there are some sexy scenes that are not bad, but sincerely that is not enough. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI. Future (2023)

 Future started in a very good way, Ana has a secret crush on Fuse, and when Fuse goes to Ana's dental clinic and laments being unlucky in love, Ana proposes Fuse. This was quite a cute starting, even if I wondered a little bit about why Ana is so engrossed in Fuse, giving that, we soon understand, Fuse is quite immature and simple... But I liked the character of Ana, basically he is someone who likes sex and he was sort of victimized by his previous partners. He is also someone who easily falls in love, but he is sincere in his feelings. Maybe Fuse is the right partner for him, in his simplicity, Fuse is able to accept Ana without second questioning him. Quite sexy series, I would say. Some drama, but not much and nothing they cannot manage. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 6/6.

Moon & Sun by Akane Abe

 

Masahiro, heir to a yakuza syndicate, has been skating through life without much purpose. Il Gatto Sul G by Tooko Miyagi

 

Atsushi Ikeda is your typical “nice guy.” He’s so nice, he even has this habit of bringing stray cats home. But even he is quite unprepared for what turns up at his doorstep one day...a cut and bloodied young man. The injured boy turns out to be famous violinist, Riya Narukawa.

Seeing the frail Riya arouses Atsushi’s compassion for wounded creatures. He decides to look after the young musician, even giving him a key to his apartment in case Riya needs a place of refuge. But Riya has been on his own most of his life and is quite unsure as to how to react to Atsushi’s acts of kindness. Worse, Riya actually has another personality within him that is not so frail and timid as his other self.

Listen to the duet of Atsushi and Riya as the seeds of attraction begin to blossom between them. Then things come to a crescendo as Riya struggles between his dual personalities. Finally, the symphony builds up as a third wheel surfaces. Truly, Il Gatto Sul G. is one musical masterpiece to be swept up in.
