all the covers of the books in the literary contest are automatically also in the cover contest, plus yes, direct submission from authors/publishers and or artists. Readers not yet, but I accept suggestions if I miss some covers. I periodically browse the net to see the new releases and add covers but of course I cannot be sure I picked everything, and of course I cannot pick everything (no time to do the polls in that case) so if it's not a direct submission, more or less I pick print book covers and not ebooks.

I came to vote this week and it's showing the results instead of the choices to vote. I remember there was a way to correct this so I can vote, but I don't remember what it was. Any help?

if you have the same issue (showing the results instead of the choices to vote) there are some link atop of the page (under the title Poll), and the first one should be something like "fill the poll" (sorry I have it in Italian and for me is "completa il sondaggio"). Clicking on them you enter the edit mode.

I prefer the covers to be a little bit more subtle - and saw now that I am obviously not the only one.
