Virginia Coffman was born in San Francisco on July 30, 1914, and worked in the Hollywood studios during the Golden and Silver years. She has worked on many TV scripts as well as doing some acting herself. She began writing in 1959 and since then has had over ninety titles published. She wrote also with the pen names of Kay Cameron, Virginia C. Deuvaul, Jeanne Duval, Diana Saunders & Ann Stanfield. Virginia Coffman passed away on March 30, 2005.

Someone once asked Virginia Coffman how long it took her to research her first book.
"It took me thirty years to research," she replies. "That's all I was doing in my youth and young womanhood; constantly reading, because history is something I love."
"I care more about background in my books than anything else," she said. Indeed, Virginia was an expert on various periods of history.

About this project: Mafia accountant Riley Leary finds himself blackmailed by an unseen party when he's caught stealing from his boss. To make matters worse, he garnishes the interest of the dangerous hit man, Anton Colletti.

Will Riley manage to get things right, or will Anton make things go from bad to worse?

"Hello Friends,

My name is Laura Carboni, but most fans of the gay menslove graphic novels know me as “Zel”. I’m from Italy, but I’m trying to produce my book, Roulette, in America.

This book was at first written by my dear friend Tina Anderson, and bought by Dramaqueen, a small publisher in the USA, and it was published for a short-short time in their magazine called ‘RUSH’. Suddenly, they stopped paying me, and the writer of my book, because I hear they ran out of money, this is what I think, because they stop printing all Rush books, and stop contacting me! I’m owed monies for my work on Roulette and so is my writer. My Tina is not quiet like me, and made a terrible noise to this company, and managed to be paid only in copies of RUSH. She sold these copies on Amazon for a time, and sent me the monies from these sales. I was elated, and happy, but very guilty, because I think she is owed monies also—but she will not take her half of sales, from me.

I’m here on Kickstarter because I love Roulette, and I love the idea that sexy comics can made for men and women, and not just for one or the other! Roulette is a story that is very much for men, and I have found a publisher in Italy who will produce Roulette for “bara” fans in Italy, but they are a small publisher that does not pay until my artwork is complete. I want Roulette to be finished for all the gay world, and ladies who like bara, but I want to produce it with my writer, because she produces her own works and they are beautiful! Roulette is 255 pages, and I’m nearly complete, soon its ready for tones and new letters, but this will cost me monies.

Money is always a problem for me, as you know the economy in Italy is very bad. I’ve even gone back to drawing for children’s comics at WINX Club, but this pays so little, not enough to allow me time to finish my precious Roulette. The dollar goal I’ve set on is high, but is to recoup what was owed to me by Dramaqueen for the pages I completed, and to pay a tone artist and letterer, also, I want to half-pay for printing and promotion things so that my writer, Tina, does not have to do it all on her own. I’m half-creator of Roulette, and I want to be half-producer, too!

The first chapter of Roulette can be seen here, some pages are from RUSH, and an extra bit no one has seen, is also there.

I appreciate and love all of you who have the heart and interest in my book, and are willing to help me reach my goal! I close my long note and ask you to forgive my poor English, but to please spread the word for me, and let all know that Roulette is not dead!

With Love,
Laura "Zel" Carboni"

This anthology is so nice and romantic that is really difficult to say if I like a story more than the other, they are really very good.

Lucky Dip by Clare London: A light and very romantic story about a primary school teacher and his former boyfriend who wants a second chance. Andy is so cute and tender that I was wondering how Greg could have ever thought to let him go, and truth be told, I would have not bought his reasons so easily like Andy does, but you know, when you are in love nothing else really matters. There is no drama in this Christmas story, and even if sex happens, it’s behind closed door (pun intended), so the major focus of the story is the romanticism, and a love story that is sure to have an happily ever after of the type that warms your heart.

Butterscotch Kisses by Chrissy Munder: Matthew has been dumped by his boyfriend, but that is not really what is upsetting him, but more the fact he has a fear for heights. And so he is going over and over back to the same place where the break-up happened, but after the first time he has one reason more to go: the cute ticket guy, Adam, and his funny hats and warm smiles. Now Matthew’s target has changed from trying to overcome his fear to conquering Adam. Again a sweet and romantic story, no sex at all, just some very tender kisses.

Wintertide by Lou Harper: more with a bittersweet feeling than the previous two, Wintertide is probably my favourite. It’s about Oscar, an handsome 40 pushing 50 years old man who has recently lost his 25 years long-time partner, Charlie. There is no regrets in Oscar, he knew he loved Charlie as much as it was possible, and Charlie loved him back, so Oscar’s sadness is right, but not incurable. And so when he meets Jem, young man with a stray attitude, Oscar brings him home, to cherish and love him, something Jem is not used to. Oscar and Jem are average people, not model striking beauty, not sun-tanned wealthy businessmen, but their love is sweet and romantic, one of the nicest novellas I read in recent time.

When in Amsterdam by Josephine Myles: Interesting multicultural love story, between Brandon, Englishman, and Jos, from Amsterdam. Jos is bringing Brandon to meet his family in Amsterdam for the Sinterklaas, a local festivity, and Brandon is surprised to find out that instead of elves helping Santa Klaus, there are the Pietens, black-little men. To Brandon’s sense of justice it seems a little insensitive to use something deriving from slavery as children fairy tale and also turning it into a tourist souvenir, but actually there are more important things on Brandon’s mind right now, like trying to understand if he is able to being the dominant lover Jos needs, not an easy thing for him to be, Brandon being so kind and sensitive every time and in all occasion.

A Pint of Beer, a Bag of Chips, and Thou by JL Merrow: a funny May/December story about Liam, a twenty-something guy who has the hots for the silver fox he sees everyday while he is playing the saxophone in the London Tube. Even if Liam has a wonderful life, a loving mom and two wonderful aunts living with them, plus another one who is in a lesbian relationship, it’s clear that his interest in older men it’s due to the fact he didn’t have a fatherly figure in his life. Liam’s father is more than 10 years younger than his mother, and has now a new family and doesn’t care much for his first son, probably since he didn’t want him from the beginning. But as I said, Liam is not bitter about that, and when he meets Neil, it’s love at first sight, a love that will grew strongly until the Christmas Eve night when he will have finally the chance to meet him.
