Irresistible Love: Secret of the Valet (2016)

 I almost forgot about Irresistible Love: Secret of the Valet, cause there are two versions out there, HEA and no HEA. And I don't like talking about no HEA. But considering this is a product out of China, that does not hide the gay relationship between the two main leads, and if you manage to see the HEA version and avoid the no HEA, I think you are good. Aside from the HEA/no HEA, there is another issue here, the way Xie Yan treats Shu Nian as a property. I know, I know, it's his way to deal with his feelings for Shu Nian, but still, it's very harsh, and I feel like Shu Nian does not have choice, but to accept it. Anyway, out of China, openly gay, HEA (at least one version, funny like they avoid the stigma in this way), I think it's worth to try. Heat Level: 5/6.

Two Weddings and a Funeral (2012)

 Two Weddings and a Funeral was profiting of the trend of rom-com out there in the 90s and 2000s. Sincerely I liked better The Wedding Banquet, dealing with the same theme, but also this one was a good comedy. It's a little sad to thing that probably situation like the one described in the movie really happens, and in this way, this movie is more realistic than The Wedding Banquet. But even if dealing with a sad topic (the impossibility for same-sex couples to marry), Two Weddings and a Funeral maintain a light tone. HEA. Heat Level: 2/6.

Takumi-kun Series (2007)

 Takumi-kun series is paying the fact that it was made in the 2000s. The acting is raugh, and the relationship between Gii and Takumi is really old-style, seme-uke 100%. It's probably interesting to see how the mentality changed in 20 years. Said that, I did not like the character of Gii, he was totally unsensible to Takumi's feelings, Gii thinks he is always right, and he is hurting Takumi, not with intention, of course, but still. He is also forceful with him during sex, something that Takumi could really do without, considering his past trauma. So I would say, look at this with warning, if you want, more like an history project than really for the product itself. But if you are an hardcore Yaoi fan, I suppose this was an important step into the world. HEA. Heat Level: 3/6.

The Tyrant Falls In Love by Hinako Takanaga

Graduate student Souichi Tatsumi is demanding, violent, tyrannical...and a homophobe. So, it's unfortunate that his best assets are a beacon to the homosexual eye: his ass and crotch. Unfortunate, indeed—for both him and his underclassman -slash- lab assistant, Tetsuhiro Morinaga, who is hopelessly in love with those assets despite the threat to his own personal safety.

Morinaga longs to tell Tatsumi how he feels, not to mention other longings... but, given Tatsumi's personality, Morinaga has a better chance of winning the lottery.

Junjo Romantica by Shungiku Nakamura

Misaki is struggling to pass his college entrance exams, and has taken up a tutor: the cool and sexy Akihiko Usami, who also happens to be a famous boys' love novelist. At first, Misaki is disgusted by Akihiko, but slowly, Misaki realizes he may be developing feelings for the older man. And so begins the bumpy relationship of this odd couple, filled with comedy and pure romance...
