In Pawprints Anne Cain told us a story about men who shifted in cats, and both in human than cat nature, the main character was sensual and mischevous like a cat. In Second Nature, Gabe is a dog, and like a very good and nice dog, he is iperactive and cute like a puppy. He loves to cuddle and he need to live in pack, even if the pack is only made of two person, him and his lover Hayden. But there is a problem, Hayden has a deep fear of dog, being bitten when he was still a child. And Gabe has not yet found the courage to reveal to his lover that he is in part what Hayden fears most.

Gabe and Hayden are former high schoolmates and now they share an apartment together during College. They have a pretty good life, full of love and bright moments. But something dark and ancient could bring them to a very dangerous situation.

Both the Pawprints books deal with paranormal events, but in the end the evil is not so evil, and the danger is not so fearful. Second Nature is a enjoyable read, a perfect rest and relax support to go bed with a smile on your face.

And as always Anne Cain did a wonderful work with this cover: I have the previous one in poster size and this one is nice like the others.

I think it's more a love point of view for Anne Cain; pets sometime love us more than our friends and this is a way to fantasize of having a faithful lover.

I haven't read this, this is probably nicely and professionally written and it all look right. I have only come across with such fic written by amateurs and some of them sounded like cat molesters to me - hahahaha

I understand everybody's got their kink and some like to fantasize about tails and cat ears, but I am amazed at the dimensions of the phenomenon. So many people are into it!

If you don't count Werewolfes stories (or other weres) that are a very old phenomenos, I think more of the recent interest is due to all the yaoi graphic novels about lover with tails and furry ears... there are a lot of stuff out there!
