The novel starts in a phenomenal way and then maybe goes more on the average, but in any case it’s for sure a very funny and light romance, also romantic and sweet.

Joseph meets Kyle at the local gym and he immediately falls in lust for the god-like man: Kyle is tall, handsome, with a wonderful smile, clever and more than everything he is kind and sweet… the full package. Joseph would never guess a god like Kyle could be interested in an average guy like him, but it’s Kyle who asks him out the first time and of course Joseph is not to let the chance go. After a difficult start due to a misunderstanding on what are good manners in certain occasions (always remember the basic rule: A proper young man always buys the second round for the person who bought him the first one. The same idea is generally true when it comes to orgasms), Kyle and Joseph speed towards a full time relationship without much trouble.

This last point is probably what made me wonder more, the easy solution to Kyle’s ultra-conservative parents seemed too simple, but then you have to think this author focused more on the funny situations these two have more than on their real life trouble.

I really love the characterization pair, Joseph an average guy, but from a wealthy country-chick background, out and proud, and Kyle god-like looks but nerd attitude, from the country-farm side, in the closet and shy. Joseph compact and small, nickname “squirrel” but with big “nuts” and Kyle lean and tall, nickname “big guy”… in the end “little squirrels can climb tall trees…”.

I would have not minded if the author spent some more pages on what is happening in the final chapter, my romantic heart would have loved it.
