“Are you a furry? A Fox Tail is unapologetically furry”, I think this question/warning the author chooses to introduce his novel is quite right; Furry romance is not for everyone, and if you are new to the anthropomorphic genre, A Fox Tail can be a cultural shock. I would probably suggest to start with something lighter, and then maybe, if you enjoy this type of romance, giving a try to A Fox Tail.

This is a romance between a fox and a wolf in anthropomorphic bodies, but it borders very much in, as the author uses, unapologetically erotic/porn; since I’m not really into pure erotica, I don’t have many comparisons, but I think this is actually one of those one-hand books I heard about. Now, don’t get me wrong, that is a good thing, if the author manages (and he does that) to arouse you enough that you are uncomfortable to read this book in a room with other people, than I think he reaches his target. The message I want to convey is that, the warning is good and necessary, since reading about sexual adventures between anthropomorphic characters is not for everyone.

Said that, there were points I liked a lot, and some points (maybe only one), that made me a little uncomfortable; I liked a lot that, beneath all his bold fur (pun intended), Polar, a big white wolf, is a teddy bear, the one dreaming of long-term commitment, marriage and even children; he is the one, the first time he is having sex with Vulpie, the little orange fox, that associate the word love to what is happening between them, while maybe Vulpie, at that time, was still considering theirs a one night affair. What made me a little uncomfortable, is that sometime their sexual intercourse borders on pain, with Vulpie actually protesting, I was not really sure if he was doing that for real or if he was playing the game of little fox with big bad wolf.

In the end, I think that Vulpie is really young and everything for him is still a game, even the commitment with Polar, but indeed, that is his fox nature coming out; I hope Polar is strong enough to deal/manage his little fox.
