"I have always felt I was on the outside looking in, thus the name of my publishing company, Alien Perspective. I have spent my life being told I wasn't conforming properly. I think conformity is heresy to an artist, and leads to spiritual and creative entropy.

I started my own publishing company because I didn't want any limitations placed on my muse by corporate marketing guesses about what people want to read. I write about characters and stories that interest me, and so far people seem to like what I have to say and how I say it. That makes me a very happy person.

And in yet another act of rebellion, I choose not to give you any demographic info in this bio. You don't need to know where I come from, what I believe - other than that I've said already - or if I have kids, or yadda yadda yadda.... Read what I write and decide if you like that. You'll learn a great deal about me, because art is the expression of our souls."

Part one of an epic four part "love story for men" set amongst the buccaneers of Port Royal during the infamous Henry Morgan raids. It is the story of the relationship between two lonely and scarred men as they attempt to find happiness and peace through love and friendship. With adventure and romance, this chronicle explores questions and themes of gender, sexual preference, societal acceptance of homosexuality, survival of childhood abuse, and how to build a lasting relationship in a world gone mad.

Sometime an author tries the main publishers (that, yes, sometime are adversial), and gives a judgement based on few example. Some other time, he wants to do the things as he likes, without hearing good advices... he can be right, he can be wrong. I didn't read the three books in this series, so I don't know if this is the case, but yes, from the statement, it seems that this author chose the self-publishing way to be free to do as she likes, and I'm not saying that she is right or wrong in doing so.
