Rainbow Awards: Evolution

This year Rainbow Awards saw the introduction of the fee; for the last 3 years many told me it was necessary, the same authors and publishers thought it was necessary. I decided a) to make it affordable to the majority of authors (so to encourage the self-published authors) b) to pick two charities and give the profit to them c) to allow to those authors who really couldn't afford the fee, to volunteer in the jury and square in that way their fee. I still wasn't sure those were right decision, but after updating the data of the past 5 years of the Rainbow Awards, and considering there is still one month to submit, I'm confident we took the right decisions. Reaching the same number of submissions of last year was impossible, last year was like a whirlwind and everyone was submitting, more or less everything they wrote. Reaching the same number of submissions of 2011, that was an awesome year, was a good expectation, and I'm glad to see that, most likely, that will be the goal.

I'm glad to share the evolution of the Rainbow Awards, I consider this year numbers, considering all the changes, awesome.

I'd have sent you more, Elisa, but the rest of what I had published were novellas. I'm hoping I'll have a couple (although 3 would be nice *g*) for next year. Wishing you a successful 2013!
