Billy Merrell is an American author and poet. He published his first book Talking in the Dark, a poetry memoir, in 2003. He also co-edited The Full Spectrum for Knopf Books with David Levithan. Merrell lives in Brooklyn with his husband Nico Medina. "On April 1, 2007, I asked Nico to marry me by performing the final proposal monologue I had been writing for weeks prior. He said yes, and we exchanged vows in the yard of his childhood home in Winter Park, Florida, on October 18, 2008."

In 1939 W.H. Auden met the poet Chester Kallman, who became his lover for the next two years (Auden described their relation as a "marriage" that began with a cross-country "honeymoon" journey). In 1941 Kallman ended their sexual relationship because he could not accept Auden's insistence on a mutual faithful relationship, but he and Auden remained companions, sharing houses and apartments from 1953 until Auden's death. Kallman died less than two years after Auden, seemingly of a broken heart.

Christian Louboutin is a French footwear designer whose footwear has incorporated shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature. Landscape architect, Louis Benech, has been his partner since 1997. They spend time between their homes in Paris' 1st arrondissement, a fisherman's cottage in Lisbon, a palace in Aleppo, a houseboat on the Nile christened Dahabibi-my love boat, a house in Luxor and a 13th-century castle in the Vendée with his business partner Bruno Chamberlain.

Gun Brooke resides in the countryside in Sweden. A retired nurse, she now writes full time, only rarely taking a break to create web sites for herself or others and to do computer graphics. Gun writes both romances and sci-fi. Speed Demons won a 2012 Rainbow Award as Best Lesbian Romance, 2nd place, and Pirate's Fortune as Best Lesbian Sci-fi/Fantasy, 2nd place. In Pirate's Fortune, notorious pirate and mercenary Weiss Kyakh works as a reluctant double-agent for the Supreme Constellations.

James Holmes, an organist and choir director, was Ned Rorem's companion of more than 30 years. In Rorem’s diaries, James Holmes was known as JH, and on many occasions Rorem mentioned how great his dependency on JH was. Eventually, Holmes was diagnosed HIV positive, and after a great struggle with Rorem by his side, Holmes died of AIDS in 1999. Rorem described the struggle that he and JH faced in his publication, Lies. This haunting work shows the despair and brutality of watching a lover die.

Jann Wenner is the co-founder and publisher of the music and politics biweekly Rolling Stone, as well as the current owner of Men's Journal and Us Weekly magazines. Since 1995, Wenner's partner has been Matt Nye, a fashion designer. Together, Wenner and Nye have three children. Wenner was credited with spawning the music sensitized generation that served as the launchpad for the visions of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in a Huffington Post column by Eric Ehrmann, one of his Rolling Stone writers.

John Gidding is a Turkish-American architect, television personality, and former fashion model. Gidding started modeling in 2000 as a graduate student, performing runway shows for Armani, Gucci, and Hugo Boss before being represented by Wilhelmina Models in New York City. Before entering the design profession, Gidding was the spokesmodel for Jhane Barnes in 2004 and 2005. He's also been on the covers of numerous romance novels. Gidding moved to New York City where he started John Gidding Design.

Both traditionally and independently published, Red Haircrow is an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction, poet, private chef and former law enforcement officer of Native American (Chiricahua Apache/Cherokee) descent who lives in Berlin, Germany. They are also a Psychology major and operate the indie publishing label "Flying With Red Haircrow." Silence Is Multi-Colored In My World won a 2012 Rainbow Award as Best LGBT Biographies/Memoirs, 3rd place.

Richard Hunt (August 17, 1951 – January 7, 1992) was an American puppeteer, best known as a Muppet performer. Hunt's Muppet roles included Scooter, Beaker, Janice, Statler, and Sweetums. Hunt was openly gay. When Rudolf Nureyev who was also openly gay made a guest appearance on The Muppet Show, Nureyev rather bluntly hit on Hunt. Hunt died of AIDS-related complications on January 7, 1992 at the age of 40. Episode 3136 of Sesame Street and The Muppet Christmas Carol were dedicated to his memory.

In 1951 Robert Duncan met the artist Jess Collins and began a collaboration and partnership that lasted 37 years till Duncan's death. In 1952, in San Francisco, Jess, with Duncan and painter Harry Jacobus, opened the King Ubu Gallery, which became an important venue for alternative art and which remained so when, in 1954, poet Jack Spicer reopened the space as the Six Gallery. Many of Duncan's poems--such as "These Past Years: Passages 10"--celebrate his love for Jess Collins.
