Ben Tyler: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/2918678.html

Ben Tyler works for a studio in Hollywood. He is also the U.S. correspondent for a London magazine. The darker side of Jordan’s talents are evident in TRICKS OF THE TRADE: Being gay in Hollywood is never easy. But thanks to his homophobic female boss, Bart Cain's life is a living hell. The disgruntled staff writer would like nothing better than to retire to a picturesque Scottish village-- preferably with a hot literary career and a hotter houseboy. But first, he has an axe to grind...

Brian Howard & Sam Langford: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/4134075.html

Brian Howard was an English poet, whose work belied a spectacularly precocious start in life; in the end he became more of a journalist, writing for the New Statesman. Sam Langford was the Irish-born companion to Brian Howard, from 1943 onwards. Like Howard, Langford became addicted to drugs. He died in his bath when he was gassed by a faulty water heater at the house he shared with Howard in the south of France. A few days later, Howard committed suicide by taking an overdose of sedatives.

Jared French (1905 – January 15, 1988): http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/1412389.html

Jared French was an American painter who specialized in the medium of egg tempera. In 1925 he met and befriended Cadmus in New York City. French persuaded Cadmus to give up commercial art for what he deemed, "serious painting". In 1937 French married Margaret Hoening, also an artist. For the next 8 years Cadmus and the Frenches summered on Fire Island and formed a photographic collective called PaJaMa ("Paul, Jared, and Margaret"). French left the USA and died, in seclusion, in Rome, in 1988.

Jim Nabors is an American actor and singer. On January 15, 2013, Nabors married his partner of 38 years, Stan Cadwallader. The couple met in 1975 when Cadwallader was a Honolulu firefighter. "I'm 82 and he's in his 60s and so we've been together for 38 years and I'm not ashamed of people knowing, it's just that it was such a personal thing, I didn't tell anybody, Nabors said. I'm very happy that I've had a partner of 38 years and I feel very blessed. And, what can I tell you, I'm just very happy."

John Dall (May 26, 1918 – January 15, 1971): http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/4134343.html

John Dall (May 26, 1918 – January 15, 1971) was an American actor. Arthur Laurents had a four-year affair with Farley Granger, who starred with John Dall in Rope, the 1948 Hitchcock thriller for which Laurents wrote the screenplay. Dall was also gay, as was a third actor in the film whom Laurents had also dated. "The studios didn't care what anybody did about anything so long as it was kept private," said Laurents. "There was wholesale fucking of all kinds in Hollywood then." --Charles Kaiser.

At the age of seven, Mazo de la Roche's parents adopted her orphaned younger cousin Caroline Clement, who joined in her fantasy world game and would become her lifelong companion. In 1931 they adopted two children whose parents were friends of Clement and de la Roche and who had died.

Stan Leventhal wrote Faultlines, Mountain Climbing in Sheridan Square and A Herd of Tiny Elephants. He died on January 15, 1995, of AIDS related complications. "Like all the dead and the living, I think I see him everywhere. But it is just new versions, young versions of guys like Stan. Most of us seem to be re-created every 15 years. I see a twenty-year-old me almost once a month, and a twenty-year-old, forty-year-old, sixty-year-old Stan passes by on the street often enough." -- Sarah Schulman
