G. H. Hardy was a mathematician, known for his achievements in number theory and mathematical analysis. Main character at David Leavitt's The Indian Clerk, depicting his Cambridge years and the relationship with John Edensor Littlewood & Srinivasa Ramanujan. In an interview by Paul Erdős, when Hardy was asked what his greatest contribution to mathematics was, Hardy unhesitatingly replied that it was the discovery of Ramanujan. He called their collaboration "the one romantic incident in my life."

Howard Overing Sturgis was an English writer. He attended Eton and Cambridge and was friends with Henry James and Edith Wharton. After the death of his parents, he moved into a country house with his lover William Haynes-Smith. His first two novels were successful as far as sales were concerned; his third, Belchamber, failed to gain the same plaudits, however, although Edith Wharton praised it. Sturgis published a short story and a memorial on his friend Anne Thackeray before his death in 1920.

Roy Dowell is a California contemporary visual artist. His work combines collage and painted elements, and elements of mass media to create abstract compositions. Lari Pittman is an American painter. Pittman received his MFA from the Cal Arts in 1976. There he met his life partner, the abstract painter Roy Dowell who he has lived with ever since. Pittman and Dowell have been pillars in the modern art world for 30 years, exhibiting their work in galleries and museums around the globe.

Mark Tewksbury is a gold-medal-winning Olympic swimmer. His remarkable 16-year athletic career included 3 Olympic medals, numerous world records, and inductions into 3 major halls of fame: the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, and the International Swimming Hall of Fame. He was a commenter for the CBC from the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, hosts the Discovery Channel's popular How It's Made show, and is Co-President of the first World Outgames, Montreal 2006.

Witi Ihimaera is a New Zealand author, and is often regarded as one of the most prominent Māori writers alive. In 1995, Ihimaera published Nights in the Gardens of Spain, a semi-autobiographical work about a married father of two daughters coming out. He had come out to himself in 1984 and began the work, but out of sensitivity to his daughters, did not finish or publish it then. Nights In The Gardens Of Spain was filmed in 2010, featuring Calvin Tuteao in the central role of 'Kawa'.
