Lois Eileen Bierkortte (April 12, 1921 - December 31, 2009) and Mary Anne Evans (March 19, 1931 - April 1980) are both buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, USA. Mary Anne Evans, died in 1980, aged 49, and is buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling. She was a lesbian, although the word was never used in her family. She and her life partner, Lois, lived together in a small house on Third Street in Marietta. Lois died on New Year's Eve fo 2009 in an assisted living facility in Wheeling. On her obituary online from The Wheeling News-Register there was no mention Mary Anne preceding her in death. She was born April 12, 1931, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Eva Mary Weitzel Bierkortte.She was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling, a former employee of the Hillsboro Ohio Gas Company, and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
