The front cover blurb that says this book is “A salacious BDSM romance” does the actual book a great disservice because the finely written story with depth of theme and characterization is so much more than that! Although there is some BDSM activity between the main characters, it is of distant importance to the main story, which dwells far more on the emotional makeup of sensitively, multi-dimensional written characters. The historical element is true-to-source, and the author leads you into Victorian London with the ease of a seasoned resident. The writing is first class, the plot delicious, the setting authentic and the characters drawn to a fine point of perfection.
Behind Locked Doors has a good pace, with the right amount of tension, and goo chemistry between the characters.
