Award-winning novelist and memoirist Amber Dawn reveals a gutsy lyrical sensibility in her debut poetry collection: a collection of glosa poems written as an homage to and an interaction with queer poets such as Gertrude Stein, Christina Rossetti, and Adrienne Rich. By doing so, Dawn delves deeper into the themes of trauma, memory, and unblushing sexuality that define her work.

This book reminds me of why I like poetry. Amber Dawn blends poetic structure, which I love, with fresh feelings and images. No word is wasted. The theme is dark, but there is enough edge to it that it's not depressing. I don't feel sorry for the story teller. She's in control of her life, and it shows.

Poetry is so personal. This collection is wonderful on every level. available, deep, well written, moving, intense & very affirmative of female empowerment. Winner!

Poetry is to be re-read and savored. Each time read, it means something different depending on the day or life experience.  This collection of raw, cut to the bone verses elicited a deeper understanding, finding something new.  This form of writing, Gloss or Glosa was a treat to read and re-reread.  It is not a long tome, however, it speaks volumes.  I thank Amber Dawn for sharing her most personal experiences, as the opening poems on depression hit home for me.  I hope, as Ms. Dawn has written, she will continue to Gloss.
