A fun, occasionally affecting 20th century historical story with a smooth, confident, breezy narrative style and just enough period detail as it moves through the decades. There are some sweet moments, a bittersweet gut-punch in the middle, and a happy ending. I was left wanting more of these guys, but satisfied with where it ended.
