reviews_and_ramblingsThe first half of this book was really hard to read as the pain of the two main characters came off the page. By contrast there was a lot of hope in the second part for both. I did think that the portrayal of the family involved swung from rather extreme neglect of Lannie to the perfect family stretched my belief, but the underlying contrast rang true.
