My first impression which held throughout the book: The writing, the characters, everything sparkles. A.L. Brooks obviously had a ball writing this book and it totally shows. This is one smooth and most enjoyable ride with heroes aged from their twenties to their sixties. And best of all: Of course there is a lot of action, but there are tender, thoughtful moments enough to make this a top-notch read. And the cherry on the cake? There is a female, queer, PoC, …. Oh wait, that would be a spoiler. So read. This. Book.
