I'm arrived to the Marriot Hotel where the Yaoi Con will start tomorrow. Today we visited two of the most famous University Campus, Berkeley and Stanford. Nothing special, I didn't like very much Berkeley and Stanford was pretty, but maybe I'm used to hundreds of years older University, like mine in Padua that was founded in 1221.

Tomorrow: Yaoi Con Day 1

Yeah, Berkeley's relatively young compared to Padua. All the same, I take a lot of pride in its political reputation and history, being a raging liberal, myself.

Go Bears!

Yes, in fact also in Europe it is famous for that reason. Elisa

Thank God it's famous for that reason and not because of the crazy stuff that goes on outside campus! XD

Oh, the usual. The streets are haunted by a lot of homeless people with severe mental problems. Sometimes they harass pedestrians, sometimes they walk inside a shop and start causing trouble, sometimes they just start screaming in the middle of the streets. Quite a bit of drug-selling takes place out in the open. Protests happen all the time, too, that don't involve the students. A number of political groups use Berkeley for their demonstrations since it's so liberal.

I actually work two blocks from the university. I wasn't there today, though, so I wouldn't have been able to arrange a quick meeting with you. But I'll be at the Yaoicon, too, so maybe we'll cross paths there. :)

Glad you're enjoying your stay here!

Come to the East Coast.
The leaves are turning color and it is glorious.
It may be a little "calmer" than Berkeley, too.

Different attitude out here. A little more serious about life. But the ocean is beautiful and the leaves on the trees magnificent.
