People around is making list on list, I have already done my share with the Rainbow Awards for books and covers ;-) so now I'd like to do something different, I will post the Top Posts of the Year, month by month

January:

Man Candy Day: Chris Fawcett: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/490563.html

Chris is for sure one of the best looking models I have ever featured. I love tall men, even if, maybe, he is still more a boy than a man, I feel like an old woman cradling the cuddle when I'm looking at him ;-) But he is for sure a very promising new face in the fashion industry and I'm glad to have seen him in more than an editorial in the past year.

February:

Pretty Man by Ryan Field: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/505641.html

At the time I didn't know but this was the beginning of a wonderful online friendship, that was also "tested" last September when I visited Ryan. Ryan is always supporting of me, and I now list him among those authors who trespass the definition of "authors" to become "friends", like William or Victor.

March:

Excerpt Days: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/555527.html

This was my first excerpt day and it was a success. I'm still doing it, but not on a weekly basis as before, I realized that it was too much work for me. Now I post excerpts once a month, but authors are still welcomed to send them.

April:

Amazon Fail: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/593110.html

I'm not usually one to take part in the wankfest, but the Amazon Fail was something that hit me near home. I'm a Top Reviewer on Amazon, and I rely on it to buy books that I have no way to find at home. I post reviews, I know people read them on Amazon, and so having all the Gay and Lesbian books disappear from the search engine was not a nice thing. I do believe it was a code error, but I do also believe that Amazon was trying to insert a filter on the search engine, and that was not something I'd like to see.

May:

Man Candy Day: Sean O'Pry: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/637024.html

I really didn't expect for Sean to be such a favorite of my friends list, I posted him on a whim, I liked a picture of him, and he is such a cute boy.

June:

Link from Slate: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/677254.html

This was totally unexpected, a columnist from www.slate.com linked one of my Gay Commercial posts as an example for an article on gay in advertising. When I saw the amount on incoming links I was almost worried... the power of the net...

Adopt a Movie: Violet Tendencies (and Jesse Archer's In the Spotlight): http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/667614.html

Jesse is another online friendship that I did this past year, and like Ryan before, I decided to meet him while I was in New York City. I think Jesse is a young man with a lot of potential, and I wish him a bright career in the next future, and I will be first in line to see Violet Tendencies when it will be released in 2010.

July:

Jeff Spicer: A Realistic Master: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/727164.html

Jeff Spicer is only one of the many artists I featured, but he was quite appreciated by my friends list, and I think that Walmut is a wonderful artwork. I'm posting him, but I would like to post all the artists I featured this last year, they are so many and they are all stunning.

August:

In Their Youth: Early Portraits by Greg Gorman: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/776204.html

The posts on art books are always appreciated, and Greg Gorman's works are for sure among the best you can find around. I was even more glad to help Clare London to find out the artist of one of her favorite pictures, this is one of the thing I love and try to always do in my LiveJournal, to give credit for the artists work.

September:

Around the World: East Coast USA: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/tag/travel:+east+coast+usa

Travel is essential for me, and this year I had also the chance to meet some friends while doing it. Like last year for California, I posted a day to day Journal with pictures, and my friends seemed to like it, so it was well worth. My friends "followed" me even if I was not posting reviews, and for me this was a sign that I have real friends out there, for them I'm not only "that" reviewer, for them I'm Elisa.

Behind the Cover: Paul Richmond: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/800368.html

For sure Paul is the best cover artist of the year, his foray in the Gay Romance cover art world started suddenly and fastly, but I think that we will see more and more covers by him in the next future. And he is also one of the nicest person I have ever met online.

October:

The Rainbow Awards: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/807504.html

Well, obviously, October is the month I launched the Rainbow Awards, and it's for sure one of the most important thing I did this year, despite some comments I received since I "dared" to do that. Apparently I'm irrilevant and illiterate and so on...

In the Spotlight: Max Rhyser: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/814660.html

Max is one of the model I featured in the past, one of the first actually and he was also one of the first to leave a comment. After that I exchanged some emails with him and I liked very much his attitude, he was also very kind and full of life, and even from the emails I could say that he is a sweet man... So I dared to ask him for an interview, I "dared" since I'm not an interviewer and I'm always at lost when I have to do one. I think the resulting post was wonderful, not since my questions were good, but since Max opened his heart to me and the people who read this post.

November:

The Inside Reader: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/859397.html

No, November was not a good month. I was really ill, a very very bad flu, and I was alone in a stranger country. I didn't even have a good connection, so I was mostly offline. But November is also the month I launched the Inside Reader, a serial post I like very much, and apparently other did too, since I saw a lot of similar lists popping out here and there... well, it means that mine was a good idea ;-) I don't know for how many weeks I will be able to post, it's not easy to find authors willing to post their Top 10 List, but I will try to do it.

December:

Gay Romance Movie: Make the Yuletide Gay: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/880590.html

December is not actually ended yet, but I think that I will choose this post. The Gay Romance Movie serial post is something I started almost in silence, I didn't think I had enough knowledge to do movie reviews (I don't think to have enough knowledge to do book reviews!), so mine are not actually reviews but more featuring posts. But I like them, and I really see all those movies, so I'm happy to share them with my friends.

I'm sure I forgot someone and something, and if so, forgive me. You can obviously point out something you liked, and I will update the post: in the end, without my friendlist, this year wouldn't have been the same!

Merry Christmas you all my friends, all over the world, and nearer than I believed last year.

Thank you Janice. Yes, my LiveJournal is mainly a place to find reviews, but I also enjoy all the other posts I do, it's always fascinating to see what people like. Elisa

Well, when I sent in my cover specs for MT, they were impressed since I had all these reference pictures--many from models I'd seen for months on your journal that reminded me of my guys.

Paul was memorable to me because I had no idea who he was or what was happening with the cover of HM until you filled me in and he is a wonderful person, one of the best I've met online this year.

And my favorite posts are the inside reader because I like seeing what influences people.

Hi Elisa,

We must have been on the same wave length today, because I just finished a post about you and The Rainbow Awards before I even saw this post.

One of the highlights of this past year for me was meeting you in person and getting to know you better as a friend.

And I'd like to thank you again for creating the Rainbow Awards. It's an important event now, and I think it's going to become even more important in the future.

Thanks, Elisa, for everything you've done to welcome me into the fabulous world of gay fiction. You've been so supportive and encouraging. Here's hoping for many more years of gayness to come! :)
