Finally I can buy my copy of Bloodraven (available both in print then in ebook version!).If you want an idea how interesting this book is, you have only to know that I, even if I have just read the story on the author's website (she has posted every chapter soon after writing them), now that I have the chance to buy the ebook I'm glad to pay for it: P.L. Nunn deserves it, for sure.
Yhalen lives in a fantasy world, of magic and medieval fashion. He is a son of the forest, lives a peaceful life. But suddenly death and destruction shatter his world and he is raped and nearly killed by huge beings called Ogres. After some days of unbelievable pain and humiliation, Yhalen is given as sex slave to Bloodraven, an halfling ogre. Bloodraven is huge and green (!) but his eyes are clever and he is not a cruel man. Sure he uses Yhalen for sex, non consensual sex in the beginning, but he tries not to bring pain to him.
At the beginning Bloodraven seems to consider Yhalen more or less like a sex toy, and during the story Bloodraven remains distant and reclusive. You will never full understand this huge man-ogre, but you will understand that he feels for Yhalen. And Yhalen can't prevent himself to reciprocate the feelings. And to begin to desire, better to crave for the halfling. Even when he can set himself with something more suitable to him, Yhalen can't force himself to abandon Bloodraven.
Can't and force are the right term in this story, cause this is a strong story of undrivable events that push Yhalen towards his destiny, a destiny he maybe doesn't want, but he has to accept.
The book is long and strong and passionate. You have to want to read him, cause is not a simple reading. But I assure you, it deserves your time.
