Last week I featured the pretty Olympic boys, but not always being pretty means being a good athlete... so this week I will feature the Golden Boys, those athletes who won a Gold Medal (sorry no teams, otherwise the list would be too long!). Anyway, true be told, they are almost all quite pretty, someone on their own way. And I tried to find a picture to feature them that was a bit more showing than a sport pic.

This is a great post!! You posted hot Olympians last week?? OMG! I must see that.

These are all great pics. Mr. Kramer really is a handsome man and a great speed skater!

I know you can't do teams, but I would like to add Sidney Crosby, assistant captain on the Canadian men's hockey team and the goal scorer in overtime yesterday to give Team Canada the gold medal!!!!!!!! :D

Just had to add another picture of Alex Bilodeau! He won Canada's first ever gold medal on home ground. He seems to be a wonderful young man who takes inspiration from his older brother who has cerebral palsy.

Mmm, lots of pretty. :D Seung-Hoon Lee is a real cutie, and Charles Hamelin, and Steve Mesler's definitely hot; it's hard to tell in a lot of the uniforms the various athletes wear, so it's nice to have these pics.

Just in case anyone might care [innocent humming] there's quite a lot of real-person slash about Evan Lysacek scattered around the internet. Even low levels of Google-fu will find it. Just, you know, in case there's someone lurking around who's into that sort of thing.

In most of the stories I've seen paired him up with Johnny Weir (who's also very pretty), but there are a few other cute/hot skaters here and there as well. :)

I can have guessed that. There is a story from Prizm Book, The Next Competitor, about a young gay skater who is training for Olympics and whose main competitor is another american slight older skater, not gay. In the end, the young gay skater finds love with another skater but looses Olympics and the other american skater wins. The book was out before the Winter Olympics, and it was real strange to notice how it practically described what really happened.

I've seen a number of fanfics which were pretty much like that. And note that I haven't actually read any skater-fics in... at least two or three years, so people have been writing that story since way before the recent Olympics.

But yes, it really wouldn't be hard for anyone who's followed skating for the last decade to come up with that basic plotline. Whether or not they've read (or written) skaterslash before, the rivalry (not necessarily personal, but the two of them battling it out for various titles) between Johnny and Evan has been obvious and inspiring, back when Johnny was on top of his game. I was sad that he didn't do better this time around, but he's always been very inconsistent; when he's on, he's wonderful, but when he's off he's all over the place. :/ When everything clicks for him, though, he's glorious.
