Man Candy Day: Cover Boys
Apr. 19th, 2010 01:40 pmThis week Man Candy Day post is devoted to the Cover Boys. Most of the time, it's almost impossible to recognize them, since their head is often cut to put in front a beautiful chest, but sometime they are so handsome that a name comes out anyway. Two of them, Benjamin Godfre and Lance LaMar, are not exactly romance cover boys, but more fitness models borrow to the publishing industry, and instead Nathan Kamp is the new name of the romance cover art world, surclassing old glories, like John DeSalvo, Fabio and Stefan Schwarze.
Benjamin Godfre, born in 1988, in Minnesota, USA, is an American model of Irish, Italian and English descent. Godfre was raised in Minnesota, USA, and now is attending school in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
In the beginning, male modeling was almost an unthinkable concept to Godfre, and numerous offers was rejected right away. Not until he met veteran photographer Tom Cullis, who took beautiful photos him, was he finally convinced to give modeling a try.
Soon there after, came his first modeling job, strutting his athletic body for men's fashion wear, "Timoteo.net." All of a sudden, the demand for Godfre has become so overwhelmingly high, that reportedly he's received offers from several big clothing companies including Australian leading men's swimwear manufacturer, "AussieBum."
His ability to project to the camera coupled with his great physique and exceptional good looks definitely make him a force to be reckoned with in the modeling world.
When not modeling or studying, Godfre loves to go to the beach, parasail, and surf, which is his number-one hobby.
"I have been in the industry for nearly a decade and I value my network of amazing creative minds I have collaborated with along the way.
Modeling is my creative means of reaching you. My focus is to foster creativity, goals, and positivity through my images. I am a full time student who has two restaurant jobs and an internship. However, I am a relatively stress free and very happy individual. I am very much a humanist and I value being professional and honest."

Lance LaMar is born near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a rural area. His parents loved to travel the United States, and he saw most of the country before he was even 10 years old. After graduating from high school, he attended North American Institute of Aviation in his quest to become an airline pilot. At a friend's suggestion, he started modeling part time to help pay tuition.
While he enjoyed lifting weights, he was not real serious about fitness, and was scrawny and weak. But he quickly got serious after the embarassment of one day having to take his shirt off at a photo shoot. He started working real hard on his body, and soon, at almost every shoot, he was somehow ending up shirtless!
His modeling career started to take the shape of "Fitness Modeling," and soon he was in fitness magazines, on the covers of Calendars and Fitness Books, and shooting fitness and physique oriented videos.
Since his career as an airline pilot is more steady and reliable, he continues to fly and always works his fitness modeling as a second career. It works great for him, as he has little pressure, and it keeps the modeling fresh and fun.
He currently lives in Miami Beach, Florida, where he owns and operates a gym, Peak Physique, with his best friend Riley. The gym specializes in private personal training, and has been a huge success. Mostly because Riley does an incredible job running the business.
He enjoys training clients on his days off from the airline. Owning a gym affords a lot of perkes that help him keep fit. He usually workouts when there are no clients and he has the gym to himself. He doesn't have to wait on equipment, and he can play any music he wants, as loud as he wants. Plus, he likes working out with his shirt off, which you can't do in a lot of gyms. Being able to watch his body in a mirror as he trains, helps him keep strict form, and reinforces his motivation. His favorite body part to train is "Chest". He trains 4 to 5 days a week.
When he is not working on working out, he enjoys TV sports (especially football), music, going to the beach, and hanging out with his friends. He feels very blessed with great friends, and he is very close to his brother Joel, who is a Chiropractor.

Nathan Kamp is born and raised in Seattle, the oldest of three children. He was very active in sports. He participated in everything he could… soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, wrestling and football. As he got older, however, wrestling and football became the sports upon which he focused most. Finishing high school as an all-state football player and a successful wrestler, second in state at his weight class, he was ready for his next challenge.
In college, wrestling pushed him to achieve, not only on the mat, but also as a man. Hard work and practice brought him to a national tournament, where he finished in the top ten. As college was coming to a close, he was unsure of what was next.
With his brother he decided to attend a model scouting convention that came to Seattle… what could be more cool or easy than modelling? The feedback was very positive as agencies from around the country expressed their interest in him. Six weeks later, he received a call from an agency in New York City.
Abercrombie & Fitch was to be his entry point into this business. Therefore, moving to Miami that winter to pursue modelling, was the beginning of an exciting adventure that has allowed him to see many thing he never thought he would. Also travelled to amazingly beautiful places throughout Europe and the tropical paradises of Jamaica and the Bahamas.
Modelling gave him the pleasure of meeting and working with some great people and building some strong friendships that have lasted, even until today. In lieu of the relationships gained during this time, the most important relationship of his life was developing. On October 7, 2000, he married the love of his life and his best friend… making him the happiest man on the planet.
They are now living in New York City, and are passionately pursuing their career goals.
