Plot: This whimsical Off-Broadway hit musical is aptly reworked and transferred to the screen. The self-descriptively titled Naked Boys Singing is a musical revue of songs that poke fun at gay life, body image, love, loss and yearning.

As the title suggests, naked boys do sing (and dance) in this campy big-screen adaptation of one of the longest-running and most lascivious off-Broadway musical revues ever produced. Filmed in Los Angeles, this is essentially a basic recording of the live stage show, spotlighting songs such as "Fight the Urge," "The Bliss of a Bris," "Muscle Addiction," "Nothing But the Radio On," "Members Only" and "Window to Window."

NAKED BOYS SINGING! sings the praises of male nudity and the cast includes a multi-talented, racially diverse selection of singers, dancers and actors including Jason Currie, Kevin Stea (Madonna’s “Blonde Ambition” tour), Joe Souza, Joseph Keane, Phong Truong, Salvatore Vassallo, Andrew Blake James, Anthony Manough, Jaymes Hodges, and original stage cast member Vincent Zamora, who bare it all on the BIG screen.

I wondered if featuring this DVD since it's not a movie but a real musical, the old type of musical where basically each actor has his own solo song, and they are all on the stage singing and dancing... naked! But since I noticed that when I posted about Matthew Ludwinski's experience as Naked Boy Singing on stage at Broadway, many of my friends were actually interested in the DVD adaptation, and so here it is.

I saw it and it's really nice, after the first moment of WOW, actually you forget that the boys are naked and enjoy the show... And it's no bad that the boys are very handsome ;-)

I saw Naked Boys Singing on stage (um... twice!) in New York. It was a really fun show. I had no idea they'd put it on DVD.

From what I understood there are various casts that perfomed the musical on Stage, and they filmed this DVD 2 years ago with a cast half new and half with the same actors who, at the moment, were on the Broadway show. I saw only the DVD, I would have liked to go see it in New York, but didn't have the chance. Elisa
