I know that In & Out is a bit of a stereotype, and that Howard is more a "character" than a "real" gay man, but I really like this comedy, and Kevin Kline and Tom Selleck kissing? Joan Cusack in overweight version who catches the hollywood star, hot and younger, Matt Dillon? Is it really possible to not like this movie? So raised hands: if you want a very light, and very funny, gay themed comedy, big budget and good actors, In & Out is your movie.

I absolutely love this movie. Yes, it was lightweight, it isn't going to break any barriers, although it does suggest that being a gay man does not equal swishy -- since you could hardly call either Tom Selleck or Kevin Klein swishy. Personally I'll watch anything with Klein in it and my other favorite movie of his is A Fish Called Wanda which I think is one of the all time great comedies. But I think everyone was perfect in In & Out and played their roles to perfection. Just about every minute was funny, though I do think my favorite moment was Cusack, in her wedding dress, in the bar trying to proposition Tom Selleck and her line "Is everybody gay?"
always makes me howl. She deserved that Oscar.

Yes, Joan Cusack was fabulous in this movie, and I really loved her love story with Matt Dillon. And I'm like you, I can see everything with Kevin Kline and like it.

I think Kevin Kline is coming out (no pun intended) as winner on all front.
