Plot: Handsome David Rudd stars as Drake, a sexy and charismatic stranger who infiltrates a group of good-looking, successful, thirty-something gay men in New York City. The flirtatious Drake spices up the lives of this tight knit circle of friends, but soon creates unexpected drama. Drake has a bitter past filled with hurt and betrayal. He thinks that all gay men are cheaters and resents anyone who seems happy and committed. He proceeds to manipulate, seduce and tear apart these friends to prove that no one deserves happiness. Will these friends survive Drake's cunning schemes or prove that love and friendship can prevail against all odds?

A smart and sexy story about the complexity of gay relationships, this touching, funny ensemble film explores non-monogamy, commitment, friendship, getting older and more.

WHIRLWIND hails from director Richard Le May (200 American) and writer Jason Brown (Tender Places). The film's cast also includes talented stage actors Brad Anderson (A Chorus Line), Desmond Dutcher, Mark Ford (Rent), Alexis Suarez and Bryan West (Hairspray).

I saw this movie without much hope to find something worthy, since I read only negative reviews around. And instead it's a nice comedy, with a tinge of drama, but not too much, with nice characters, and without much angst. It's not obviously a big money movie, it's low budget, and there are some points that could be better developed to make this a very good movie (like Mick's story with the cute server, or Drake's unresolved past), but nevertheless it's not so bad as you could imagine reading the reviews. Sean and Bobby are really cute, they are real and sweet, and playboy Desmond who falls for plain-john Louis is one of the best part of the movie.

It's for sure low budget, but not as bas as others I saw, so I was wondering why it received so bad reviews. Hope to not be the only one to find it good. Elisa
