Date: 2010-08-30 02:35 pm (UTC)A mio avviso nell'ultimo paio di anni, la qualità delle copertine è aumentata e in molte quando le guardo, *vedo* i personaggi e questo mi piace.

Date: 2010-08-30 03:44 pm (UTC)I voted for any that would make me want to take a closer look and see if I am going to buy the book, since that is, in my opinion, the whole purpose of a cover.
Some of them are so intriguing I have even been googling the books whilst doing the poll, and my TBB list has grown considerably.

Date: 2010-08-30 04:02 pm (UTC)It's nice to see the diversity in covers, especially the painted ones, which are my favorites. As I went through them, I have a feeling that I will be buying a lot of books in the future...

Date: 2010-08-30 08:58 pm (UTC)I'm not sure it matters, but my book cover is listed in the voting, but my name isn't listed with the authors. Julie Lynn Hayes.
Thanks!

Date: 2010-09-01 07:16 am (UTC)What drew me to a cover
Date: 2010-09-02 10:32 am (UTC)Cover artist are the unsung heroes. I am one of those unfortunate souls that DOES judge a book by it's cover (or it's title.) I've added so many more books to my wish list, it's not even funny!
I noticed a hand full of artist kept cropping up in my picks time and time again.
I also noticed I was attracted to covers showing at least one older model (a touch of grey at the temples - yum!) one ethnic model (hispanics sorely missing,) models who wore at least 1/2 of their clothes, and simple, uncluttered covers.
What turned me off? Headless, bare torso men (eh-gads! Scary!), covers with a lack of definite color, single models standing there doing nothing, clutter/too busy of a cover, more than two models on a cover, and models who were so good looking, they seemed unreal/unapproachable.
I made a list of what I liked, and now I'm off to purchase my first round of books and drop a note to the publisher and the cover artist - letting them know what cover I liked and why.
Thanks for these polls! You rock!

Date: 2010-09-02 02:13 pm (UTC)I've found I keep voting for the Anne Cain and Catt Ford ones, which is interesting. I've not been paying much attention as to the names of the artists who design the covers I like in the past.

Date: 2010-09-04 12:49 am (UTC)I'm very impressed with all the work Elisa, and I've also added a lot of books to my gotta buy list.
I think that's a good thing. :)
