The hit Boys’ Love comedy returns in an all-new edition—just in time for the upcoming anime!
Nakamura is a shy and painfully awkward boy who has fallen in love at first sight with his dreamy classmate, Hirose. But there's one problem: they haven't even met! And that may be for the best, at least in Nakamura's eyes. After all, he's a total klutz that could totally bungle things before they even begin! But when he finally gets a chance to speak one-on-one with Hirose, will his worries cease or will he make a spectacular mess?
An endearing Boys' Love comedy about the trials of high school, first loves, and some seriously hilarious attempts to cling to happiness.
My Rate: 8 (amzn.to/4nvCfyk)
This manga stands out from the typical boys' love high school romances. For starters, Nakamura is fully aware of his sexuality—he’s sixteen and mentions he knew he was gay even earlier, likely since middle school. He’s in love with Hirose, but his extreme shyness keeps him from approaching him, let alone confessing his feelings. The story unfolds through a series of short, slice-of-life episodes that follow their everyday experiences as high school students. Don’t expect much in terms of romance—just getting Nakamura to speak to Hirose feels like a major victory. Still, I really enjoyed it. It’s sweet, drama-free, and oddly comforting. There’s something heartwarming about seeing Nakamura live a normal teenage life, filled with crushes, friendships, and all the little things that make adolescence special.
