Jack felt like hitting the floor, on his knees. He let Corey down and that was something he considered unforgivable. He froze, not knowing what to do. Corey rushed over and stopped right in front of him, looking up at him with expectation written all over his face.
Jack didn't have an argument for him. "Let's go home," he said as he ushered Corey through the big glass doors.
The ride home in the limo was too quiet. Jack reached out and grabbed Corey's hand and was just happy that he didn't pull it away. For the first time in their relationship, Jack was the one seeking comfort, and he didn't know how to handle it. He despised being self-conscious, insecure, and he hated how much he needed Corey to be there for him.
They were getting close to the penthouse. "I'm sorry," Jack said.
Corey squeezed his hand. What did that mean?
