East Coast Day 14: New York
Sep. 18th, 2009 04:12 amEven if it doesn't seem from the picture, I'm in New York ;-) But I decided to visit two places I haven't had the chance to see 9 years ago when I was there: the Morris Jumel Mansion, a Palladio inspiration villa that when was built was a country house and that now resides in Uptown Manhattan and that is actually the oldest home in the island; more it's also a museum since 1904 and it has the one of the best characteristic for me, it's totally avoided by tourists! After that I went to visit The Cloisters; I know that they are not the original cloisters I love so much, but it's actually a very beautiful museum if you love Middle Ages and that type of architecture... I do. After that, the afternoon was spent wandering the town and doing shopping. In the meanwhile I also learned that, when I will be back home, I will have to go to Dublin the week after, and as soon as I will obtain the Visa in Russia, both time for work... September and October seem to be very busy time for me.
